
The Dragon Boat Festival, also known as Duanwu, originated from ancient China, with one legend saying it commemorates the poet Qu Yuan's ***. He drowned himself in the Miluo River after the fall of the Chu kingdom. To mourn him, people raced dragon boats and threw zongzi (sticky rice dumplings) into the river, hoping to keep fish away from his body.
