The Dragon Boat Festival, also known as Duanwu Festival, is a traditional Chinese holiday celebrated on the 5th day of the 5th lunar month. Its origins can be traced back to the Warring States period (475-221 BC).

The Dragon Boat Festival has since become a time for families to gather, enjoy traditional foods, and participate in various activities. Zongzi, a sticky rice dumpling wrapped in bamboo leaves, is a must-have dish during the festival. Other customs include wearing a medicinal herb called mugwort, hanging calamus leaves, and painting the faces of children with real or artificial horseradish to ward off evil spirits.
