The Dragon Boat Festival, also known as Duanwu Festival, commemorates the poet Qu Yuan, who drowned himself in protest against corruption. It's celebrated on the 5th day of the 5th lunar month. The festival is marked by dragon boat races, eating zongzi (sticky rice dumplings), and hanging mugwort and calamus to ward off evil. It symbolizes courage, loyalty, and respect for tradition.
