Jie Zitui once saved the life of Duke Wen of Jin, but later chose to live in seclusion. When Duke Wen became the king, he remembered Jie Zitui's kindness and sent people to find him, but Jie Zitui had already passed away. To commemorate him, Duke Wen ordered the day to be designated as the Cold Food Festival, during which people were forbidden from using fire and had to eat cold food. Over time, the Cold Food Festival evolved into the Qingming Festival.
