The Dragon Boat Festival, also known as Duanwu Festival, commemorates the death of Qu Yuan, a famous poet from the Warring States period. According to legend, he drowned himself in the Miluo River after being betrayed and exiled. Local people raced dragon boats to save him, and they threw rice dumplings into the river to feed the fish, thus preventing them from eating Qu Yuan's body. This festival is celebrated annually on the 5th day of the 5th lunar month.
