The Qixi Festival, also known as the Chinese Valentine's Day, originated from a legendary love story between the weaver girl, Zhinu, and the cowherd, Niu Lang. According to the tale, Zhinu was punished by the emperor for meeting her beloved, Niu Lang, and was separated by the Milky Way. Every July 7th, magpies gather to form a bridge for them to meet. Today, the festival is celebrated with traditional customs like making "Qixi rice pudding" and enjoying love-themed activities.
